XMAS PARTY WEEKEND 2024
Our annual get together is planned as a base camp located on a farm in the Strezlecki Ranges, just the other side of Warragul.  Travel time is about 50 minutes from Berwick central.
Meeting Point– Run Amuk Farm – gates open Friday afternoon – go for the weekend, part of the weekend or just a day
Order of events
Friday – arrive and set up camp for those arriving Friday afternoon/night
Saturday – Proceedings kick off Saturday morning with getting a spit roast going for Xmas lunch later in the afternoon.  A session of party games for all, possibly a night time movie and other social activities planned for the rest of the day.
Sunday – pack up and for those wanting to do a little 4wdriving Merrick is planning on taking a short detour on the way home to some nearby hills
4WD Terrain
A 4wd vehicle is preferable to access the camp site at Run Amuk – just in case the grass is slippery.
Merrick is planning on running a short 4wd  trip on Sunday for those wanting to get on some tracks.
Track Classification Guidelines – Planed difficulty – Easy/Medium
– Planned Terrains – Rock, Mud , Hills, River crossings
Catering
As mentioned above the plan is to have a sit down lunch early afternoon Saturday.  The club has agreed to supply meat for the spit (beef/lamb & chicken) plus bread and potatoes.  It is asking that those attending supply either a vegetable dish /salad  or desert.   So that we don’t end up with just one of something a volunteer is needed to coordinate these dishes with those attending. VOLUNTEER PLEASE!!
All other meals are to be supplied by yourselves.
Entertainment
Apart from the planned party games and prizes, and a generally good time, if conditions are right we are hopeful of holding an outdoor movie Saturday night.
Visitors
Visitors are welcome however the Committee has decided that in order to make it equitable to members that visitors should contribute $15 per adult head towards the spit roast. Children under 16 are free.
Toilets
The club has agreed to meet the cost of hiring a fancy pancy mobile toilet for the weekend.  Sweet smelling and all – what luxury!!!
Dogs
Run Amuk is a working cattle farm with very young calves on hand. It also has to abide by national biosecurity standards and being in the country it has more than its fair share of wild life – both cute (koalas, platypus, echidnas, wallabies) and not so cute (tiger snakes, wedge tail eagles).
Therefore, dogs are welcome on two conditions – firstly, that they are kept on a lead or caged at all times and secondly, that all No2 ‘s are picked up, bagged and taken home for disposal.
Rubbish
As in the bush all rubbish must be taken home with you.  Run Amuk does not have a council rubbish removal service.
Minimum Requirements– Xmas decorations for tent and vehicle, kids, laughter and fun.
If you have trestle/blowfold tables suitable for sitting around to have Xmas lunch – could you please bring them.  Chairs suitable for sitting around these table are also advisable.
For the 4Wd trip- a UHF radio, either handheld or vehicle mounted.- Your own recovery gear, consisting of at least a rated snatch strap and two rated shackles (soft or hard).- At least one rated recovery point on the front and back of your vehicle.
Attendance
PLEASE NOTE This event requires quite a bit of co-ordination to make it successful. Early confirmation by Friday  15 November is therefore needed. Can you also contact Gordon ([email protected]) with numbers of your family attending.
There are no attendance limits for this trip.
