This is planned to be a HARD trip for the experienced. Starts Saturday midday 17th August, meeting and camping alongside the river at the bottom of Pheasants Track.
In Nathan’s words :
Starting at Pheasant’s track on the Saturday afternoon with plans to hit the hardest tracks we can find on Sunday.
Usual recovery gear and UHF will be required and a winch is almost certainly going to be needed.
The descent into the camp is fairly steep and probably best not to attempt in the dark if you’re not confident.
This is the planned camp site. On the off chance we can’t get in then I’ll need to know who is attending so as to redirect to an alternate site. This part is mandatory so we don’t lose anyone trying to get in late evening. A location pin of the intended camping spot can be sent to participants on request.
PS. this country is rocky and scrambly rather than muddy, but thats not to say it won’t be slippy if rain is about…
Please confirm attendance ASAP and definitely by COB this Wednesday by responding to this post, calling Nathan, or responding to the email that I will send out to all.
